These terms apply to subscriptions to the FOCUS English App (videos, exercises, quizzes and the rest of our online content) bought on our website. They are an agreement between you and Training Language Centre Limited, trading as FOCUS English. Zoom and face-to-face classes have their own terms.
The price, the billing period and any minimum period are shown before you pay. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, and we charge the card you saved with us, until you cancel it. You can update your card or change your plan at any time from My Account.
When a free trial is offered, it is for new students only. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the first payment is taken automatically and your subscription continues as above.
Some plans have a minimum period. If yours does, you agree to pay for the whole minimum period and the subscription cannot be cancelled until it has been paid.
Once any minimum period has been paid, you can cancel at any time from My Account or by sending us a message on WhatsApp: +44 7751 848795. No further payments are taken and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not give refunds for part of a period.
Your access starts as soon as you subscribe. By subscribing you ask us to start straight away, and you understand that you lose the 14-day right to cancel that UK law otherwise gives for digital content once access has started. Payments are not refundable, except where the law says they must be or if we cannot provide the service. This does not affect your other legal rights.
If a payment fails, we will try again and may pause your access until it is paid. Any discount on your plan may be lost if the payment is not made on time.
Your account is for you only. Do not share your login. We may suspend or close accounts that are shared or used to copy our content.
All content is for your own, non-commercial learning. You must not copy, download, record or share it, except where the app lets you. We add, update and sometimes remove content, and we work to keep the app available, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted.
If you subscribe inside the mobile app, Apple or Google bills you. Payments, cancellations and refunds are then handled through your App Store or Google Play account, under their rules.

We may update these terms. If a change affects your subscription, we will tell you before it applies. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Course fees are not transferable or refundable. Students are liable for the entire cost of tuition. A refund will only be granted if the course does not start, therefore the course fees will be refunded within 6 weeks by cheque or the student can have a credit. The student should request for a refund in writing.
If the student wishes not to continue the course, the student can have a credit (remaining classes to be watched) in his/her account for some other course at FOCUS English in the future. If he chooses this option, he/she must use the credit within ONE YEAR of the date he/she dropped‑out of the original course. The student must notify FOCUS English immediately, otherwise the credit will not be granted.
Because FOCUS English would like you to enjoy the maximum benefit from your course, you will be expected to attend all classes. Missing classes may put you in danger of failing unless you make up the missed work and are able to demonstrate mastery of the material covered. If you do not attend your class you may lose your place and refund will not be given.
Students or guarantor are responsible to pay for the whole contract chosen. After the minimum period it has to give a 30 days notice in order to cancel the card payments.
